Who can order Meals on Wheels?

To order meals at a subsidised rate, you must first register with My Aged Care, undertake an aged care assessment and receive a referral to Ku-ring-gai and Hornsby Meals on Wheels. To find out more about registration and eligibility click here.

Private clients and people with a disability whose package is administered by the NDIA can order from us on a special rate basis. Please contact us directly for more details.



How to order Meals on Wheels

You are ready to place an order once your eligibility has been approved by My Aged Care and you have received a referral number. All orders must be placed at least three business days prior to delivery.

There are a number of easy and simple ways to place your order:

Payment

Clients may be asked to contribute towards the cost of meals. Our prices range from $4 – $12 for eligible clients.

The amount you pay will be arranged during your aged care assessment. Out of pocket client contributions can be paid by:

  1. Online payment
  2. Direct debit
  3. Cash (at the office)
  4. Cheque
  5. Credit card payment
Meals are delivered by a friendly volunteer Monday to Friday between 11.00am and 1.00pm. Please note that:

  • All orders must be placed at least three business days prior to delivery.
  • You are required to be at home to accept your delivery. Meals cannot be left on the doorstep for health and safety reasons.
  • The Meal of the Day is allocated for delivery on a specific day and cannot be changed. This is to ensure it is delivered fresh.
  • If you wish to order a frozen meal from our Seasonal Menu, you will be asked to select a delivery date when you place your order.
